The B-side / About this website

A site with
a bass line.

Engineering is what I write about here. Music is what gives the place its rhythm.

Just a little motion. No autoplay audio.

The mountains have a soundtrack.

I play bass, and Vulfpeck is my favorite band of all time. This background is my rendition of the cover of Hill Climber. Joe Dart plays some of the nastiest bass lines I know on that record.

I first traced a simplified version in Figma. The drawing grew into an animated SVG: pointed silhouettes, heavier ridges, and fine lines that follow the faces of the mountains. The space above the peaks is part of the picture, too.

This site is a place to explain what I’m building, how it works, and what I’m still figuring out. The mountains are a small reminder to leave some room for the things I love outside engineering.

Visual inspiration: Vulfpeck’s Hill Climber album artwork. This is a personal tribute, not an official Vulfpeck site.
